Configuring risk IDs

Risk IDs are a unique identifier assigned to each risk in the RiskTree, so they are only set on end nodes. They are configured using the Risk IDs tab on the settings menu.

If some of your risks do not have risk IDs set, a warning will appear. Clicking the button will generate risk IDs for those risks that need them, starting from the end of the current sequence.

There are then three settings:

The risk ID pattern is set by entering a prefix, numeric pattern, and a suffix. The prefix and suffix are optional, and can be up to five characters long. The numeric pattern determines whether any leading zeros will be included in the number. For example, the prefix RSK-, pattern ###, and suffix +H will generate a sequence of risk IDs as RSK-001+H, RSK-002+H, RSK-003+H, etc.

The number from which the sequence starts can be set using the Start numbering from option. The default is 1, but this can be used to ensure unique risk IDs across separate RiskTrees.

Clicking on  Regenerate all IDs will cause all existing risk IDs to be removed, and new IDs to be set in accordance with the risk pattern. If you have not changed the risk pattern, and are just altering other settings, click on  Close. If you have not been generating risk IDs automatically and want the missing IDs to be created, click on the button that appears at the top of the settings box.
